Function-Oriented Manufacturing
Describes a production in which a manufacturing process or a chain of manufacturing processes is chosen and adjusted by its machining parameters in such a way that the later component has the desired functional properties. The research hypothesis in the CRC 136 is that a knowledge-based predictive choice and adjustment is preferably achieved by utilizing Process Signatures.
