As part of the graduate funding of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center CRC 136 "Function-Oriented Manufacturing Based on Characteristic Process Signatures", eleven graduates from institutes in Bremen and Aachen set off for Hamburg to spend three days training their soft skills, consolidating and expanding their network, and gaining insights from the technical field outside their own field of activity. The focus of the trip was a visit to Airbus Hamburg. During the guided tour through the halls along the individual assembly steps and a tour of the factory premises with a view of the production areas of the wide-body aircraft, there was plenty of room for questions, discussions and anecdotes. A worthwhile visit that culminated with the sight of planes taking off and landing in the midday sun.
