On the 29th of June 2022 the students of the Nordbord program visited the Leibnitz Institute for Material-Oriented Technologies.
In small groups they toured the metallography lab and the hardening and heat treatment shops at the institute. The students learned about the processes of heat treating metals and observed the changes in the inner complexion of metallic parts. They witnessed a notch impact test and a hardness test as exemplary measuring and classification methods in metal processing.
