Project Area Z: Central activities of the CRC

The main tasks of the two service projects in this project field are supporting the subprojects of the F-, M-, C-, and Ö-area. In addition to the coordination of internal CRC processes, the focus is on communication within the CRC.

Coordinator of project area Z is Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Prof. h.c. Dr. h.c. Dr. h.c. Bernhard Karpuschewski

SP Z01 – Central tasks of the Collaborative Research Center

The central administration project Z01 is responsible for controlling and monitoring the entire CRC 136. This includes financial controlling, communication with the CRC locations and the DFG, and coordination of the preparation of reports and proposals. In addition to the internal meetings of the entire CRC initiative, such as general meetings and closed conferences, the focus is also on meetings with national and international scientists from various disciplines.

SP Z02 – Factory material analysis and heat treatment

The scientific service project Z02 coordinates material logistics and heat treatment of workpieces. It supports the subprojects of the F, M and C sectors in the determination of characteristic values and metallographic analyses for the development of process signatures. In addition, according to the results of the subproject M02/mechanism analysis evaluated in the first phase, project Z02 offers defined machined surface layers for the experimental simulation of multiple loadds and for the investigation of the stability of surface layer modifications.

The current results in SP Z02 are summarized here on one page.
