On 28.04.2022, we were pleased to once again welcome potential young scientists in the presence of the Leibniz-IWT for Girls'Day. After a short introduction to the world of metals, the girls set up their own experiment with steel wool and stainless steel wool in salt water. In the meantime, they were able to gain insights into heat treatment and examine the impressive equipment in the halls of the IWT. Back at the workplace, rust had indeed formed and engineer Dr.-Ing. Stefanie Hoja explained the background and answered all the questions. The programme was concluded with a quiz from the EXPERIMETALL exhibition fund.
